Concept for Uncharted Prop
So this week I'll be modeling a dagger. I'll be doing the same prop for Game Assets, so hopefully this will free up some time to catch up on my Guild Wars prop and maybe rework the materials for the Halo prop.
Guild Wars Prop Update
I got side tracked this week with other stuff, so this project is very much unfinished. I only gotten the very base mesh constructed with Zspheres today. My next prop will be a quite a bit simpler so I can keep working on this one and get it done by midterm. Here's a couple screens of what I have so far, as well as a prop I made for Game Assets.

Guild Wars Prop Update 2
Finally finished up those tutorial lessons today, and I'm almost finished with my Game Assets assignment. I need to reinstall ZBrush on my rig tonight so I can get some work done here at home, but I learned a few things from the tutorial that should help speed things up. I'll be posting screenshots pretty frequently tomorrow and Tuesday. Not sure how far I'll get with this one. I'd like to get the sculpt completely finished, along with the re-topologizing, unwrapping, and baking. The material portion might need to get put off for a little bit. Anyway, here's a few screens of what I've been up to last night and today for Game Assets.

WIP on a Sci-Fi crate. Bake-down is complete and I'm working on the materials tonight.

Tutorial - ZSphere Modeling in ZBrush
So my prop this week is a pretty complicated Ice-Axe looking thing. I knew I wanted to work on it in ZBrush as much as possible, but it's been a while since I used it. Last night I watched a quick video tutorial to refresh my memory.
Today I've been tackling a longer Digital Tutors course that focuses on Zsphere modeling in Zbrush. Looking at the concept, it seemed like it would be a pain in the ass to make a base mesh in Maya or MAX, so I'm gonna try to build the base mesh in ZBrush with Zspheres first. The tutorial is pretty in depth, but it does a good job of running you through the workflow for Zspheres. 4 Hours is a bit long, though. Here's the link, if anyone is interested in checking it out.

Guild Wars Prop Update 1
Here's my chosen design for Guild Wars. It was a toss up between two designs, and this one won out due to the color and simpler material set up. This will be my first time back in ZBrush in quite a long time, so my tutorial(s) this week will be focused on refreshing my skills, as well as learning to work with Zspheres to build the initial mesh. I'll post the link for the tutorial shortly.

Halo Prop Update
Not much to update, unfortunately, so it'll be a late night. The next few hours I'll just be finishing up the modeling and unwrapping. There's only a few major pieces that need a bakedown. After that I'll be adding normal details in NDO and be ready to make a few material passes in DDO, followed by hand painting the last details and getting it into UE4. Since I don't have a visual update for this prop today, I'll just leave you with a few shots of what I've been up to for Game Assets.

Halo Prop WIP 2
I was dealing with a couple other classes' assignments, so I haven't gotten to work on this as much as I'd like, but I made a couple of the modifications to the model tonight. The transparency was set up quickly in Max just to see if the concept could work. I also moved the fins down a bit and scaled them up. I still need to modify the fins themselves to get rid of the flat look and model the comms array on top.

Week 1 - Halo Prop
So I had started modeling this bomb last quarter from a Halo:Reach concept. The center one is the model I have so far. The left is the initial direction I was taking, but in order to change up the silhouette and possibly the delivery method for the weapon, I'll be going with the concept to the right. I still have a few changes to make tomorrow morning before getting back to the 3D side of things.
